Currently, I’m weathering winter in Ohio.
Winter, so far, has been mild. I normally walk every day outside with my dog. There’s been sprinklings of snow, but nothing substantial. This part kinda sucks because if it’s going to be cold and grey, I’d prefer it to be snowy.
We had a flood in our basement last year and we just got everything redone and reset back to normal. So now I’m really able to be in my art studio painting again. Progress has been slow, but that’s ok. I’m enjoying the process and trying not to put too much pressure on myself.
Below are a few pieces that I’ve been working on. Currently working on a large 36×36 piece. Yesterday it looked like Easter, so I had to make some drastic moves with it and push it off into a new direction.
I got to travel to Las Vegas recently. (See a quick video of the sights here.) I have a lot of events and travel coming up in the next 3-4 months so it’s going to be busy and fun. Chicago, Baltimore, Detroit, Cleveland, and Hilton Head South Carolina will all be destinations.
I recently finished a book about health by Dr. Peter Attia called Outlive. Maybe I’ll put my notes on this book on the site in the future. My big takeaways were that there are primarily 4 different ways that people die. All of them can be proactively addressed through simple best practices. But most people never do the simple, obvious things like eating well and getting the nutrients that they need.
Exercising regularly to not just lose fat, but to keep your heart strong, your muscles and bones strong, and to do things to keep your mind strong. Diet is simple – don’t take in too many calories while making sure that you’re eating good, natural food. Get enough protein to build and maintain muscle. Take in enough fiber. Don’t overthink it. Focus more of your effort on good exercise, good mental health, and SLEEP.
